Wade Cook
Wade Cook is an author of nearly two dozen books on investments, stocks, and general wealth expansion. Cook has proclaimed himself a financial guru despite his many failed business ventures. During the 1990's, Wade Cook made the rounds conducting radio programs in which he was paid for seminars on investment and wealth management. Like many so-called financial gurus, Cook has made his living selling dreams of doubling or even quadrupling income within a very short period of time. To market and promote his teachings, Wade created the Wade Cook Financial Corporation (WCFC), which filed for bankruptcy in 2002. A major element of Wade Cook's teachings is in regards to "rolling stocks" which allow you to make money by taking advantage of the expected ebbs and flows of the stock market. Although like many financial gurus, Cook has focused less on the "guaranteed success" of the rolling stocks since the end of the 1990's. Despite claims that this method was a guaranteed money maker, Wade Cook no longer teaches this as the yellow brick road to financial freedom. The problem with programs such as those presented by Wade Cook can be found simply on his homepage. Instead of explaining in detail how a plan will help you make money, the site is littered with claims of making an exorbitant amount of money within 24 hours. Upon visiting the site, the first thing to catch my eye was a claim made by "Pennie A." that she made $100,000 in one day! While we all would like to believe that's possible with minimal investment, further examination of the system will clue you in to the inaccuracy of such claims. A former cab driver turned self-proclaimed financial guru cannot teach you the steps to financial success, especially with several bankrupted corporations and charges of securities violations. Before you consider investment schemes such as those offered by Wade Cook consider that the only get rich quick scheme likely to net you a substantial profit is the lottery. For additional proof, look no further than the recent legal troubles surrounding Wade Cook. In the summer of 2005, Wade Cook and his beloved wife were charged with several counts of tax evasion. Any true financial guru knows that more important than making a lot of money is hanging on to it in an effort to secure your future. Making millions of dollars and selling books proclaiming your great wealth isn't the right way to stay under the radar if you fail to pay your taxes. The problem with trusting so-called gurus like Wade Cook is that you can never be sure if their multi-million dollar empire is a result of sound financial planning and investment or the benefits of fooling tens of thousands of financially strapped individuals into purchasing seminars, books, and other "tools" for success to implement their faulty plans. There are millions of dollars to be made in the stock market and real estate industries, but they require in depth knowledge of the market. No matter what anyone says, you cannot make millions of dollars investing money in a market or system in which you do not understand. The way Wade Cook has handled his investments should be proof positive to any potential investor that get rich quick schemes only work to separate you from your hard-earned money... quickly.
